In the Spring of 2018, Nathaniel Young (former club president) started working with Adobe and their education team to bring the Photography Club high quality Adobe tutorials.

Since then, we have hosted 2 Adobe sponsored workshops per semester on the Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Lightroom mobile to help you learn and be inspired to create. Additionally, we have given away a handful of year-long Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions (on hold as of 2020-2021). Our Adobe workshops have been some of our most attended meetings, and here is what some of our workshop attendees are saying.

“It was really easy to follow and you did a good job” - Cora Chan

“I attended your last workshop that went over Lightroom CC, and I really enjoyed it. I have used Lightroom in the past and like to use it when editing my photos … Thanks so much for the help!! I really really appreciate it!” - Kaitlyn Wolfe

“It was great to get a hands on experience editing with premiere pro, and it was great that we got to work on it step by step (with information about sound design as well as color grading and correction).” - Krishna Suresh

“I would use Lightroom a lot. I enjoy color grading in Lightroom. Haven't stepped on to Photoshop yet haha … Thanks so much man! Really appreciate it 😀” - Sid Karunaratne

“I've never used any editing for my photos before and knew nothing about it so this meeting was really helpful as an introduction into editing. As a noobie, I really like how what each function meant was explained, especially with unfamiliar features like the color distribution guide.” - Josephine Li

In the fall of 2019, we started writing blog posts to recap what was taught in our workshops. Additionally, we started featuring how students edited with the Adobe Creative Cloud on our Instagram and started releasing a monthly Lightroom preset pack on our email list.

What to expect at our Adobe workshops?

Our Adobe workshops consist of walking through a high-quality, well thought out step by step tutorial. Everyone will be able to download the example files so that you can follow along with the tutorial. Also, we bring lots of Adobe branded swag that you can take for free. In the past, we have had hats, stickers, bottles, notebooks, PopSockets, and more.

What if I do not have an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription?

Feel free to log in and follow along on the lab computers which have the software preinstalled. Or install a special 30-day free trial on your personal computer.

This sounds great, but do I have to pay to attend?

Nope, it is all free for both regular and first-time attendees.
